The permanent collection at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania focuses mainly on American landscapes, still-life painting and illustration. Fleischer Museum opened as the first museum dedicated to the paintings of American Impressionism, California School, 1890-1930's and now extends its collection to include Russian Impressionism from the Cold War Era. The Fleischer, which displays the private collection of Morton and Donna Fleischer, serves as a cultural and educational contribution to the community. Free to the public, Fleischer periodically features special exhibits of renowned artists' paintings and sculptures and performances of the fine arts. Since 1892 The Modern has been dedicated to collecting and presenting modern and contemporary art. The collection includes paintings, sculpture, works on paper and photography. The galleries regularly display special exhibits and the grounds of the museum feature contemporary sculpture. Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Classical art, decorative art, contemporary art, paintings, drawings, photographs, prints and textiles are just some of the components of the permanent collection of the MFA, Boston. Mississippi Museum of Art

The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts 

MMFA is the oldest fine arts museum in the state of Alabama. Neuberger Museum of Art

Modern and contemporary art are on display at The Neuberger, which is located on the campus of Purchase College in Westchester County, New York. The museum is comprised of six viewing galleries and an exterior sculpture garden, it is one of the larger museums in the state of New York. The National Gallery of Art

Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts

The academy was founded in 1805 as the first museum and art school in the United States. Today, the academy boasts an impressive collection of 18th, 19th and 20th century paintings and sculptures in its permanent collection. The Phillips Collection, America's first museum of modern art, opened to the public in 1921 in the home of Duncan Phillip (1886-1966). Renoir's great masterpiece Luncheon of the Boating Party hangs here, along with other outstanding Impressionist paintings by Van Gogh, Monet, Degas and Cezanne. The comfortable galleries are a perfect setting for Vuillard's intimate canvases; color-filled Bonnards; and works by Braque, Picasso, Matisse and Klee. Seattle Art Museum

The permanent collection of the Seattle Art Museum is housed in two locations and ranges from ancient Egyptian relics to contemporary American photography and video. San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

The San Francisco MOMA holds the distinction of being the first West Coast museum devoted solely to the art of the twentieth century. Founded in 1935, the museum is comprised of five departments: Architecture and Design, Photography, Media Arts, Painting and Sculpture and Education and Public Programs. The SF MOMA is known for its collection of Southern California art and the art of the San Francisco Bay Area. The Wexner Center for the Arts is a multidisciplinary contemporary arts center on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The center serves as a laboratory for the arts, with exhibitions, performances, films, artist residencies and educational programs.
