Where to Hang Artwork

HANG YOUR ARTWORK SAFELY
Choosing where to hang art is more important then how, it takes more consideration than just where will it fit. Your continued enjoyment may depend on your location selection.
Thoughtless handling and hanging damage artwork. Exposure to light, temperature and humidity all has an effect your artwork's condition and longevity. Artwork displayed in less than ideal environmental conditions must be examined frequently to insure it maintains favorable condition.
Time spent considering how and where your artwork will be hung is a good investment in its future condition and your continued enjoyment.
The basic considerations in selecting location are simple:
The elements of, light, temperature, humidity, people safe location, and a secure method of hanging.

A doorknob punctures the canvas.
Fireplaces cause heat, smoke and rapid temperature changes.
Candles cause heat then damage.

Glass brakes in a child's' play area.
Artwork can be knocked off the wall.

Bathrooms create humidity.
Brick walls hold excessive moisture.
Kitchens accumulate oil and smoke.

Sun fades artwork.
Walls should not be directly affected by heating or air conditioning.
